Summer Rundown 3: Uncle David's Dakota Dessert

The catalog description:
A buttercup squash
so sweet
it could be baked
naked
into
pies.
How could I pass you up?

Not terribly productive,
but I can chalk up your few fruit
to my few years of
squash-growing
experience.

What few fruit
you gave me
I've already begun to eat.
Yesterday,
I peeled off your
tough skin,
tossed chunks of your
orange flesh
with cloves of
Red Toch garlic,
plenty of salt and thyme,
and a glug of olive oil.

I roasted
you
to
carmelly-thymey-goodness.

You
will grow again in my
garden.

You
are the jade gift
to the winter table.

I have a few Annas d'amerique a chair verte and cucuzzi italian edible gourd -- both heirloom. Oh, and a few banana melon. Would you be interested in a small swap for some windsor and maybe one other interesting veg? I'm in the area. Enjoyed your blog.

Hi Altadenahiker: Of course we can arrange a swap. Shoot me an email at niezcka AT gmail DOT com, and we'll go from there. Have a happy day!
