I’m sure we all do it, and it’s just nice to know the feeling is shared.

Absolutely love the Fish Pepper. I think I will be making your sauce.

I am going to try the Blue Jade Sweet Corn this year. Perhaps I will have found a sweet corn for a tiny community garden plot…

Happy Gardening!Carriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05856710809802056227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30498647.post-40616941627848822562012-02-24T18:42:00.442-08:002012-02-24T18:42:00.442-08:00Michelle: Bourbon (and bacon and butter) makes eve...Michelle: Bourbon (and bacon and butter) makes everything better! Seriously, I think you're going to love this hot sauce. As for the yearbook, I think this year I am going to try my hand at lima beans. They're calling to me.

Robert: We have very mild winters. This year, we had just a couple very mild frosts. I've looked around in the US and haven't found too much variety in what is available in the means of Portuguese cabbage. I'll keep my eyes out for Gloire de Portugal though--that may just make it here. Thanks for the suggestion. You always have such great advice!Christinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12607821498331135305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30498647.post-13486028833737116152012-02-21T04:09:40.435-08:002012-02-21T04:09:40.435-08:00What winter temperatures do you have? There are numerous varieties; the one I tried last year, Gloire de Portugal, is delicious, but best planted in spring as an autumn cabbage as it has little frost resistance. Breeding might fix that.Robert Brenchleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17006227551531676492noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30498647.post-52079691098672459392012-02-20T21:19:24.069-08:002012-02-20T21:19:24.069-08:00This post is such a joy. First, I took the SSE yearbook to bed last night - I have to get some seeds for the Lark's Tongue kale - I'm such a sucker for edibles with interesting names. Second, I love Portuguese cabbage! I'm so disappointed that my plants just did not perform this winter, I just can't make Caldo Verde (big yum) without it. I will have to try it as a spring crop this year. Third, that hot hot hot sauce recipe, oh boy does that sound good, especially with that huge shot of whiskey in it. How about bourbon... Mmmm. that sounds like it would be so good on the seared Portuguese cabbage, or any cabbage.

And now, the yearbook still sits on the bedside table....

Sweet dreams...Michellehttp://fromseedtotable.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
