Foo...I had a year like that a couple of years ago. Food and cooking was, in large part, what got me through it. I'm on the other side of it now, and I can appreciate the adversity in a way. I saw this quote recently which really spoke to me "Sometimes when you're in a dark place, you think you've been buried, but actually you've been planted."
